Don’t know what else to say but wow.

I’ve been sitting here going through stats this morning of this site as well as my others and I logged into Feedburner and was surprised to see 14 people had already subscribed to our feed. I know 14 doesn’t sound like a lot, but when a site is less than a week old with very few posts under it’s belt it was a surprising number to see to say the least. Like the big geek that I am I did a little happy dance, then fired off an e-mail to a slumbering Tish to fill her in on the good news. What I hadn’t noticed until after I e-mailed Tish was that I was actually looking at the Feedburner stats from yesterday! “Hmmm”, I thought, “So what if I create the little Feedburner chicklet and see if that shows me a more accurate number for the current feed subscribers?” Sure enough the subscriber count now stands at 37! Wow.

Thanks to everyone who’s already subscribed themselves to our feed. I know there’s not a lot here now, but as you might expect Tish and I are holding off on a lot of what we want to write until the Blogathon next month when we’ll be required to make 48 posts in 24 hours! In the meantime though we’re continuing to scour the web for great sites that deserve attention and would also be more than willing to check out any recommendations anyone who stops by might have. Just check out our About page to get an idea of the kind of sites we’re interested in writing about here :)

Ranking system added

I’ve added a very cool post rating plugin to the site. As you can see I modified it a bit to display hearts instead of stars. If you enjoy a blog we feature here, please consider taking a second to rate and give it a little luv :)

1 Million Love Messages – A blog we luv

1 Million Love Messages

I recently discovered 1 Million Love Messages, a truly unique blog authored by the very romantic Mauro. Mauro, who hails from Portugal, has a very big dream – to collect and post one million love messages from all over the world.

Browsing through this site, I saw touching messages from Sweden, Japan, Malaysia, The Netherlands, and the UK, just to name a few. Mauro has received only 143 sentiments so far. He has taken to posting other love-related articles while waiting on love messages to arrive in his mailbox.

It’s now time for you guys to step in and support this beautiful project. Cruise on over to 1 Million Love Messages and leave a note for your sweetie. And if you don’t have one – well, just leave a message for me or Mike!

In Cinq – A blog we luv

In Cinq

I’ve decided to kick off the reviews on BlogsWeLuv with a very fascinating site called In Cinq, which is a blog I discovered maybe a month or so ago run by a very friendly young woman by the name of Adria. The blog is defined as an international community art project and that certainly sums it up very well.

In Cinq screenshotSo what exactly is In Cinq? In Cinq is a collection of self portrait images submitted by people all over the world, captioned by 9 word poems which are called cinquains. Those who submit their photo and cinquain have the option to do so anonymously or they may link to their own site if they so choose. That’s it. That’s the heart of In Cinq. You may be thinking “well, that’s not very interesting”, but I promise you it is. After just taking a few minutes to read some of the words people send along with their photos, it’s hard not to have any kind of emotional response. Some words submitted are passionate, others bold and some even heartbreaking. All of them are special. I find myself visiting In Cinq every other day or so just to see the new submissions.

In Cinq screenshotWith each submission to In Cinq there’s the opportunity for readers to leave comments by clicking “Reflect on this” below each photo. The majority of comments I’ve read are all very positive and encouraging. Adria has accomplished not only creating a unique and very creative site, but also one with a friendly and inviting community. In case you’re wondering, yes Tish and I have both submitted to the site as well.

Why not head over to In Cinq right now and leave your mark in the community?

Introduction to BlogsWeLuv

Welcome to BlogsWeLuv, where the only thing we enjoy more than reading blogs is blogging about them!

About BlogsWeLuv
BlogsWeLuv is the product of a late night brainstorming session by two bloggers with entirely too much time on their hands. We had just committed to participation in Blogathon 2007 and needed a central blogging site as well as a theme for our content. After tossing around lots of crazy ideas, we decided that we should blog about the one thing we know better than anything else – blogs! We read them. We write them. We live and breathe them. And now we will be blogging about them! We will use this site to review unique and interesting blogs that we’ve discovered on our many trips around the blogosphere.

Blogathon 2007
Blogathon is an annual event in which bloggers unite to raise money for their favorite charities. Participants blog for 24 straight hours and must post at least once every 30 minutes. In exchange, readers pledge money to the charities we have chosen to blog for. Blogathon 2007 will begin at 9 AM Eastern on July 28, 2007. Both Tish and Mike will be hanging out for the full 24 hours, drinking Red Bull, posting blog reviews, and raising awareness for our cause. We encourage you to join us.

Our Charity of Choice
BlogsWeLuv will be blogging for The Glaucoma Foundation during Blogathon 2007. The Glaucoma Foundation in a nonprofit organization committed to leading the fight against glaucoma and identifying new treatments and cures. This is a cause near and dear to our hearts, as Tish was diagnosed with glaucoma eight years ago. Stay tuned for more information on this disease in upcoming posts before and during Blogathon 2007. A link for making your pledges will soon be available in our sidebar.

The Future of BlogsWeLuv
Being the geeks that we are, we will be blogging about blogs long after Blogathon 2007 has come and gone. We hope that you will visit the blogs we love, as well as suggest new ones for us to peruse.
