I’ve been sick for like two weeks now and that’s mainly why you didn’t hear from me in two weeks. I hope I am still in the contributors’ list. (Tish? Mike?). Anyways, I can’t think of anything better than good ol’ Slayer and Trivium to take you through any sick period. And of course my newest addiction, Strapping Young Lad. If you don’t know jack about what I am talking or think Metal Sucks, you can do one thing. See you get genuinely, brutally honest sites and you get GENUINELY, BRUTALLY HONEST sites.You can decide under which category Metal Sucks falls.The site is run mainly by two dudes, Axl Rosenberg and Vince Neilstein, and occasionally another dude or two chip in. Before anything, I have to tell you this. If these dudes want to say a certain swear word that starts with an “F”, rhymes with “duck”, and ends with a “k”, they’ll just say it.

It is one site I’ve been reading for quite sometime now, and I can’t imagine what kept me for so long from writing about it. Oh, maybe I was too obsessed with Strapping Young Lad! (They are awesome. I highly recommend you check them out if you haven’t heard of them).

In my point of view, I think Metal Sucks‘ most valuable posession (besides a die-hard readership) is The Hard R-with God Forbid’s Dalls Coyle. I mean, it’s God Forbid yo! Not just any band God Forbid!!!

Well,we both share two things in common;we are both passionate about blogging and we both hate Nilma Dole!To all you folks who ain’t got no idea who Dole is;she is a “Three some” journalist who loves to fantasize herself as a princess!We hate her for writing about things she has no idea of;threesomes and rock ‘n’ roll!!!Honestly I know nothing about threesomes either but I know about rock ‘n’ roll,hell yeah!I do!Well anyway,I will not bother to add a link to her blog because you know you don’t want to read such garbage.

I think I’ve developed this habit of sharing all my personal junk online,let me step aside and move on with the review.

So ahem!Yes,about the blog.Well,you see a minimalistic theme,a “name” header and some very professional looking photos here and there(I don’t know anything about photography but I think the ones you’ll see are really professional!),and you know they all add to one thing-a blog by a genuinely enthusiastic blogger cum journalist.

Dinidu and his friend Deane(whom I’ve known for some time now) are currently working on two unique and different aggregator systems-lunudehi.com and article14.org .Read more about their project here.

Oh!I am distracting myself!So….coming back to the review.Where were we?Oh we weren’t no where!Well,here’s the review!

The site is mostlylisa.com-Canada’s sexy geek blog.I’ve been a reader of Lisa’s blog for sometime,I’ve enjoyed pretty much everything she writes,but I’ve always had a question.A question I am still trying to answer.Who’s sexier?The geek?Or the Blog?While the blogger in me says it’s the blog,the DORK in me I mean,the “Adam” in me says it’s “You DORK!It’s the geek”.I’ll leave that for you to figure out.

Well,I know you don’t want me to copy paste her about section.So here’s what I really feel about the blog.

The tagline speaks for the blog.It’s a sexy geek blog.(Or probably THE sexy geek blog,because I haven’t found anything like this blog in the whole blogosphere.Tell me if you find something similar.)

Lisa blogs about everything from her life in Vancouver and modelling to Macs and the latest on Twitter.Say her latest post is about modelling (something I am not into really,to be honest with you),still the geeks will have something in it because….OK,you tell me.How many geeks you know are models?Or,how many models you know are sexy? I mean geeks?Ah,now you are getting it!

Well,entrecard seems to be the biggie these days.It has grown to something so huge that you feel like looking for the widget on the google homepage to drop your card.If you are one of those people DORKS who want to drop their card on every site they stumble upon,this is not the site for you.However,you can mark my word on this.Unlike some EC giants out there,lisa replies!May it be a comment,a facebook message or a digg shoutout,lisa replies.Um….I am not very sure about the digg shoutout,I am not very active on digg!!!

When you check her site out,don’t forget to peep into lisa’s photogrpahy section.It has some glamorous modelling pics,some really hilarious stuff,some geeky pics,cute stuff like rabbits,and some EMO dude smoking a fag….Oh the list goes on.Just check out that section ok?

Don’t roll your eyes,according to MindBlogger “YOUR BLOG IS A SUPER WEAPON”,and please pardon the MEGADETH influence.

So since when did blogs become weapons?I can’t give you an exact date,but it goes back in time to roughly September,2007.Hopefully we’ll be able to get the MindBlogger to comment here,so he’ll tell you when exactly he started his blog.However,everything from Steve Pavlina to Guitars had influenced the MindBlogger’s birth.Confusing?Click here.

The MindBlogger started out as a music blog,then evolved into the personal blog of Nadeesha (Nadz) Cabral where it covered everything from Atheism to Olson Twins(and NO!I don’t like them at all!).And now thanks to the sudden brainwave Nadz had,he now shares his I.T,Designing and Blogging expertise with us through MindBlogger.

Do you read blogs about blogging?If yes,how many times did you have to click links to third party sites back and forth to get what you really need?Probably 3 times the number of blogposts you read.MindBlogger is not that typical blog about blogging with advertisements all over the blog.Of course you may see a one or two here and there,but his posts are never brought to you by 3 different sites.(If you’ve been in the blogosphere for sometime you know who I’m referring to).MindBlogger’s posts are brought to you by the MindBlogger and no one else,ocassional guest posts however are something else.

MindBlogger is not for those who want to earn a 1000$ at home.It’s for those who want to learn how to earn 1000$ at home.My point;MindBlogger will not make you a millionaire,it’ll show you how to use your blog to help you become a millionaire.Back to MindBlogger’s headlining statement.

The site has a nice,easy-on-the-eye layout,the blogger is very friendly,and most of all HE’LL REPLY TO YOUR COMMENTS!!!That’s something for me there.Unfortunately though,the very cool “About” page doesn’t seem to be there or very hard to find.But with Twitter,who needs “About” pages now!!!

Finally to sum it up,MindBlogger is a blog(ger) about blogging,and if you don’t visit it you are missing a lot.

The Beyond Borders blog is the official blog of a youth-run and youth-led organization called….duh….Beyond Borders. I will not describe the organization and its initiatives because you can read all that in the blog,so allow me to move on to the blog.

The Beyond Borders Blog(referred to as the BB Blog from now on) has been running strongly since January,2006.Yes,now it’s more than two years old(”How old is wordpress?”).With 11 die-hard bloggers and equally enthusiastic contributors,the BB Blog will assure you one thing. IT IS UPDATED REGULARLY!And,I mean regularly!

You get quality blogs and you get QUALITY BLOGS.The BB Blog is a QUALITY BLOG.It’s content may vary from sex and gender to conflict resolution,youth,culture to peace and governance,active global citizenship to politics etc…And.no!You will not find what Britney Spears had for dinner last night in the BB Blog!

With contributors from four countries you really can expect good articles from it,but with a lot of diversity.Being around these guys for sometime,I do have an understanding about their different approaches and tones of expression.And the BB Blog is a perfect example that portrays the different walks of life we all come from and what’s more?You can read all that in one blog.

Deane the I.T guru and Guru(his name is Guruparan!) are heavily political in their very strong points of view. Anu and Nipuni prefer to use a somewhat emotional approach to the usually emotional articles they write. Pink Boxing Gloves, the (s)expert brings usually unspoken issues within sexuality and gender to light.Muwahidd is poetic,Sachith is scientific and The Nut Cracker is nutty-yet to contribute,apart from digging,stumbling and redditting-Oh wait!The Nut Cracker sounds like a familiar blog to me,don’t I own it?Ah,yes,I’ve completely forgotten it after I got my own domain….ahem!!!

Another plus point is you will not see a single banner ad,you will not have to click a single link that directs traffic to other third party sites,unless they are relevant.The BB Blog is not there for the money,it’s there to provide food for thought, with the optimum goal of making the world a better place to live.It’s definitely worth giving a try.

I read a blog post written by RumblingLankan about BlogsWeLuv, which was featured on the slBlogs homepage. If it were not for that, I would not have even seen this amazing site, let alone become a contributor. (Thanks Tish and Mike, you rock!!!)

The concept of slBlogs is really simple. If you are Sri Lankan (that’s for the time being) and if you have a blog which is updated frequently, you can syndicate your blog to slBlogs. And whenever you update your blog with a new post, it will be featured on the slBlogs homepage until it’s replaced by new blog posts.

Even if you are not Sri Lankan, here’s why you should check it out.

• I came across many great bloggers and blogs thanks to slblogs. Well, since slblogs requires your blog to be updated frequently, the chances of you coming across those “once a month” blogs are very rare. And obviously, frequent bloggers blog frequently because they are passionate about it, and thus become probloggers who offer quality content always, all the time.
• They give away too much free stuff. First they gave away a free domain for a year. This was their first ever blog contest and apparently someone by the name of Mithila won it. (Ahem!!!). Now, two weeks later, they are giving away 3 more domains with 1GB bandwidth for one year. Yes, you read it right, 3 domains! 1GB! 1 year!
• The staff is ultra cool. Slblogs staff members are so helpful that they willingly share their messenger IDs when inquired, with the sole intention of helping you out. So, all in all, slblogs is worth checking out. As I said, I wouldn’t be writing this if it were not for them.
