One Dollar Jackpot – A Blog We Luv
I recently discovered a very unique and interesting blog that has quickly become one of my favorites. One Dollar Jackpot is an online competition that requires only three things – a brain, a PayPal account, and a little creativity.
One Dollar Jackpot was launched in January 2008, and is run by Andrew Beeston. The site poses an interesting question to its readers each day. To enter the contest, just submit your answer using 25 words or less. The best answer wins a big whopping dollar! And just in case you have a hard time deciding just how to spend your winnings, the site even offers suggestions!
What I most enjoy about One Dollar Jackpot (other than the potential to boost my annual income by $365) are the posts designed to help you answer the daily questions. They are written in a very humorous tone, and I find myself giggling through nearly every one of them. I especially like the little stories about Andrew’s friend Rob, who uses Facebook to advertise for a girlfriend. I’m still waiting to hear all about his Valentine’s Day!
I’d like to highlight a few of my favorite One Dollar Jackpot questions and answers.
What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done? Yours truly took the grand prize in this competition. My answer? “I asked my mother to try my awesome new coconut chap stick. Seeing her smear a glue stick all over her lips was priceless!”
Create a myth in 25 words or less. I really enjoyed reading the entries for this contest. BlogsWeLuv’s very own Mike Wheeler took the win with an interesting, yet quite disturbing myth. “Chewing the toenails of baby iguanas will extend your life ten years.”
We’re in a bar. Hit on me in 25 words or less. There were some hilarious entries to this contest – entries that make me very glad I gave up the bar scene. The winner, however, chose a simple but effective approach – “hey”.

And you’re totally right, One Dollar Jackpot is such a fun, short, awesome site. I try to enter as often as I can, and even won twice so far! Two bucks! Woo!

I found this site a few weeks back and just haven’t taken the time to answer any questions. However, this is a fun and creative idea for a website. Besides, who doesn’t need an extra buck?
