10 Questions with Amanda of The Good, The Bad & The Mischief

amanda.jpg1. Describe your blog in five sentences or less.
My blog is about my life, my parenting skills or lack of. I write about things that happen in my life or issues that affect me in some way. I also write posts on any subject that I have an opinion on and that covers everything really as one of my character traits is being opinionated although I’d rather have put sexy down on that list.

2. Link us to one post from your blog that best defines who you are.
Wishing for Reality

3. What sets you apart from other bloggers?
My blog is not written to earn money & I write my posts on any subject I choose. Financial considerations & popular opposing opinions do not affect what I say.

4. When and how did you first discover blogging?
I discovered blogging when I typed a term into Google Search and a blog was the top result for my search.

5. What is your biggest pet peeve related to blogging or the internet?
I hate reading posts that are posted purely for the sponsorship/payment. I hate wasting my time reading them instead of a proper post.

6. Name one plugin, blogging widget, or service that you can’t live without.
I love Technorati. Everyone who blogs seems to be on it and it’s a great way to discover new blogs to read.

7. If you could choose anyone, living or dead, to write a guest post for your blog, who would it be and why?
Martin Luther King or Elvis would be good choices for getting visitors, but I’d like Jerry Bruckheimer. He is involved in so many shows that I love from CSI to Law & Order. I’d love him to chat about his day, how he gets his ideas for shows and what the actors are really like.

8. How has blogging made you a better person?
I’ve learned a lot about other lifestyles & people through blogging. I’ve become more open to new ideas and new people and I’ve found a way to catalogue my life that hopefully in the future my son can read and see just how much his mum loves him and how good her heart and love was.

9. What are your tips for becoming a better blogger?
Blog from the heart, mean what you say & blog about what you know or have experienced. Always visit commenters and comment on their blogs. Join the Thursday 13 meme group and Technorati. Both are great for finding new blogs. And lastly, post regularly.

10. Name one great blog that you read on a regular basis. What makes it unique?
I have two blogs I read regularly. I can’t choose just one as they both have become the reason why I refresh my feeds so often.

I Don’t Know Where I’m From, But I Do Know Where I’ve Been
This one is by a lady writing about her life and the Mr Right that got away. It is heartbreakingly honest and full of suspense. I find it hard to wait for the next post to find out what happens next.

The 4th Avenue Blues
This blog is written by a 30 something alcoholic, paranoid schizophrenic who struggles with daily life & his desire to be homeless. He is painfully honest in his posts and has moved me to tears many times.

  1. Thanks for the plug. I detest those sponsored posts too… I hate it when I am all hooked on a post, have read half way through it and then someone plugs a product…. grrr.

My guest blogger would have to be Patineta. I want
to see the drama unfold through his eyes ;)
