Sunday Scribblings – A Blog We Luv

Sunday Scribblings is a community blogging project designed to “provide inspiration and motivation for anyone who enjoys writing and would like a weekly challenge.” Authors Laini and Megg started the blog in March 2006. Since that time, the community has grown to nearly 100 participants each week!
Each Saturday, a writing prompt is posted on the site. Participants then create a piece of writing to post on Sunday. The goal is to get your virtual pen moving in whatever fashion you choose. You can post stories, songs, poems, or even lists. The only limit is your own imagination. The site makes use of auto-links to record all participant posts.
The most recent prompt was “I carry”. I browsed through a handful of participant links and found the most amazing assortment of writing. That being carried included hope, secrets, a heavy sadness, the weight of the world, and the love of God. I was surprised, and a bit emotional, to see so many people opening up and sharing their deepest feelings.
The site is easily navigable and visually appealing. My only suggestion for improvement is to add an RSS feed button to ease the process of subscribing. Readers who must leave the site to subscribe through their feed aggregators are likely not to subscribe at all.
Sunday Scribblings is truly a unique project – one that I hope to begin contributing to next week. I hope the rest of you will join me. Even if you’re not up for the challenge, you are sure to find some incredible reading there.

Hi! Thanks so much for the positive words! It’s great to hear a new-comer’s impressions of the site. Glad to discover yours, too.
