Knoxville Trivia Blog – A Blog We Luv

I’m a Tennessee gal, born and raised in Knoxville. And though I’ve never lived anywhere else, I’m not sure I could find a better home.
I discovered Knoxville Trivia Blog a few weeks ago and quickly became an avid reader. The blog is a celebration of life in East Tennessee.
Knoxville Trivia Blog is authored by Byron Chesney, a native Knoxvillian who works as a Computer Applications Engineer. Byron is married with three children. In addition to Knoxville Trivia Blog, he owns and operates a host of other blogs. I had the pleasure of meeting Byron last month. He is one of the kindest, most interesting people in Knoxville – and in the blogosphere.
Knoxville Trivia Blog was born in July 2006. It contains information on all aspects of Knoxville – news, politics, history, commerce, and entertainment. Even though I’ve spent my entire life here, I can always find something new and interesting on Byron’s blog.
Perhaps the best way to introduce you to Knoxville Trivia Blog, and to the place I love to live, is by highlighting a few of my favorite posts.
Knoxville’s Famous Celebrities – This article showcases a few of the many celebrities who were born in Knoxville. Those featured include David Keith, Jack Hanna, Johnny Knoxville, Kenny Chesney, and Quentin Tarantino.
Knoxville, Birthplace of Mountain Dew – Anyone who enjoys the taste of Mountain Dew will find this post intriguing. I had no idea that Mountain Dew was born in Knoxville in 1940 and was originally used as a mixer with whiskey.
Knoxville’s Bloodiest Day – This post tells the story of the bloodiest day in Knoxville’s history. On November 29, 1863, 813 men were killed in a Civil War battle in the Fort Sanders area of downtown Knoxville.
Knoxville, the City with Big Balls – Knoxville is home to both the Sunsphere and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame – two of the largest, most famous balls in the world.
Knoxville Ranked Number One Best City for Relocating Families – If you’re looking for a nice place to relocate to, be sure to check out this post.
The Night Jackie Gleason Ticked My Dad Off – I used to love watching The Honeymooners, so I couldn’t resist reading this post. It’s not really about Knoxville, but those from the area will recognize some of the places Byron mentions. You’re guaranteed a little chuckle as well.
Look Mommy, It’s Raining Flowers – This article is certainly the most beautiful on Knoxville Trivia Blog. It follows the life and death of Pam, Byron’s older sister who passed away five years ago from Leukemia. If you read nothing else on this blog, I encourage you to read this post.
I can’t possibly do Knoxville Trivia Blog justice in this short review. There are so many wonderful articles and photos. Those who call Knoxville home will fall in love with the blog. Those who have never stepped foot into this beautiful city will be tempted to do so.
