Groanin’ Jock - A Blog We Luv

groanin-jock.JPGGroanin’ Jock has a unique brand of humor. It’s the first thing I noticed when I discovered his blog six months ago, and it’s a large part of the reason I keep reading. His blog is both a journal of his life and a collection of thoughts on nearly every unusual topic that happens to cross his mind. You’d be hard pressed to find a more interesting guy.

Groanin’ Jock hails from Scotland, where he works as a reporter in the oil industry. He is married to Mrs. Wife, and he has a huge fondness for music. His blog dates back to September 2006.

The Groanin’ Jock Lyrical Challenge is a series of posts to test your musical knowledge. Readers are given a random sampling of lyrics from the Magic Tune Box and are asked to identify them. I must be living under a rock, because out of all six Lyrical Challenges, I have yet to guess even one lyric correctly.

Groanin’ Jock is perhaps one of the first bloggers to begin reporting the Google search terms and phrases that led people to his blog. His post entitled What’s Worn Under the Kilt? makes me laugh as hard today as it did when it was posted in June.

Some of my other favorite posts are:

Weird and Wonderful –The story of Groanin’ Jock’s encounter with a strange man who felt that swan deaths were worthy of front page news.

Free Fun – I think we can all relate to this post about being broke when pay day is still two weeks away. Fortunately, Groanin’ Jock has been fortunate enough to find lots of free entertainment for himself and Mrs. Wife.

This Curry Tastes Like Shit – The true story of a Scottish woman who fed her husband curry made from dog excrement.

I could go on and on about Groanin’ Jock, but I’ll let you check out his great blog for yourself. Be prepared to laugh, and be prepared to add another blog to your feed reader.

  2. Garry - My thoughts exactly. I’m still laughing about it. Now I know how to take care of suitors who just won’t go away. ;)
