10 Questions with Zazza of Il Fannullone
Ten Question with Zazza of Il Fannullone
1. Describe your blog in five sentences or less.
I use to describe my blog with this sentence: half-serious consideration by an out-of-place person. I tried to make it as original as I can, almost everything in it was created by me (graphic, drawings, buttons etc.) My blog is in Italian, but if you don’t speak Italian, you can also take a look to the pictures. The blog contains some examples of my daring attempts, photos, pencil sketches, and drawings of only bits, realized with the graphics tablet. I think it describes quite well a side of my personality…the funny/humorous one.
2. Link us to one post from your blog that best defines who you are.
Parabola semiseria di una persona quasi sana (Half-serious parable of an almost sane person).
This post explains why I chose my blog’s title: ”Il Fannullone”, that means ”The idler”. It’s simple: because I AM an idler!
3. What sets you apart from other bloggers?
I think I’m good in describing even the worst things with a touch of humor. I can make laugh. It’s the first time I write something non-serious.
I have another site (www.zazza.tk), dedicated to my writings and poems, but it’s not the same. But, above all, I always try to make something original: mainly, I write, sometimes I draw, from some months I’m fond of digital photography, making some experiments. For the rest, I am a web designer.
4. When and how did you first discover blogging?
I don’t remember when I read a blog for the first time, but I know that I decided to write a blog when I read the funny posts of a girl-blogger. I
thought: ”She’s so humorous! I can do the same, after all I’ve got so much things to say”
5. What is your biggest pet peeve related to blogging or the internet?
The background music in the sites. It’s noisy, annoying. Moreover you often cannot find the button to stop it! It’s often hidden in some place
among the glittering an moving pictures and the lot of animated gifs that invade teenager’s blogs…
6. Name one plugin, blogging widget, or service that you can’t live without.
No one. The only thing I need is to customize the layout of my blog, I could not resist to a blog-platform that force me to adopt a default template: I want to edit my template. My blog is only mine, and it has to be different from the others.
7. If you could choose anyone, living or dead, to write a guest post for your blog, who would it be and why?
I would like to invite the Monty Python. My blog needs a surrealist touch.
8. How has blogging made you a better person?
I found someone who criticize me. I need critics, they makes you find the best of yourself. I need someone that tells me what are my errors in writing, drawing, designing websites, so I can correct them. Actually too much people only add positive comments in my blog; I prefer those
who express their real thoughts, than those who just say ”…Nice blog…”.
9. What are your tips for becoming a better blogger?
- Be original: fill your blog with things you created: photos, drawing, sketches, poems…
- Read and comment other blogs: this can make yours a better blog.
- Write, write, write: update it as much as you can.
- Don’t be shy: don’t take care just of your blog, think also about the blogosphere, find communities, know a lot of people…have fun!
10. Name one great blog that you read on a regular basis. What makes it unique?
I really like 1 Million Love Messages: I even sent my own love message. I think it’s a very original idea, that’s why I like it. In the Web 2.0, having good ideas and making something nobody has done before is the most important thing (IMHO…). Moreover the graphic design is very cute.
