[Geeks Are Sexy] - A blog we luv
When I first discovered [Geeks Are Sexy] Technology News a few months ago, it was the name that compelled me to visit. Being a geek, and finding other geeks extremely sexy, how could I resist? My first visit was a memorable one, and I’ve been a faithful reader ever since.
[GAS] was launched in April 2005 by Kiltak, who is living proof that geeks really are sexy. [GAS] was originally hosted on a free blogspot account, but by the following year, it had grown so large that it could no longer be effectively managed there. It was then moved to its own domain, using Wordpress and a paid hosting service. [GAS] has expanded to include a team of writers. Its mission is to “provide up to the minute technology news, reviews, and tutorials to its readership, which is mainly composed of IT professionals and computer enthusiasts.”
Don’t let the mission fool you. This site appeals to more than just the hardcore computer nerds. And let’s face it – if you’re reading this post, there’s at least a little geek in you! At [GAS] you’ll find a hodgepodge of topics – the latest technology news, movie and book reviews, tutorials, social tips, and some darn funny You Tube videos. I discovered how to repair a scratched DVD using a banana, and how to fix a stuck pixel on an LCD screen. And I wouldn’t be the crime fighting superhero I am today without my homemade infrared goggles, made using instructions I found at [GAS]!
The Monday Morning Links Serving is a weekly link love feature at [GAS]. Today’s edition includes career advice, instructions to turn your MiniMag flashlight into a laser pointer, and the link I’m really excited about – how to flash your BIOS! Yep, don’t bother calling me tonight. I’ll be busy flashing my BIOS. There’s no doubt that it will be the most action I, or my BIOS, have seen in months!
