1. Describe your blog in five sentences or less.
Our tag line “where technology meets daily life” will let you in on what ShanKri-la is about. Technology and internet have become an integral part of our daily lives one way or the other. But, it could feel like a daunting task to keep track of everything so we took it upon ourselves to share the gems we find and use on the internet to our friends and our readers alike. Our goal is to make your daily lives a little bit easier, little bit manageable and little bit more enjoyable.

Guide to managing your non-essential passwords – I believe this post shows that we are out to help and show you better alternatives available on the web. Solutions for things we do every day online.
3. What sets you apart from other bloggers?
I subsribe to a large number of technology blog and questioned myself before starting ShanKri-la. Why do I need another one? Technology blogs speak techie people. I wanted to bridge that gap so my not so techie friends can also see what it’s all about and how some of the nerdy things can actually make you efficient in gettings things done on the internet. Our readership has been growing steadily for the last 3 months and I am really excited to take it to the next level.
4. When and how did you first discover blogging?
I have know about blogging for a few years and read a few tech blogs. But, when I was looking for a software to keep track of my notes I stumbled upon WordPress and started using it at work just for myself. The love for WordPress transformed into love for blogging and now I’m addicted to it.
5. What is your biggest pet peeve related to blogging or the internet?
Flame wars. People tend to abuse anonymity and it is inexcusable. But, my course of action is to ignore such people as there are so many other great people on the internet to meet and make friends with.
6. Name one plugin, blogging widget, or service that you can’t live without.
GreatNews RSS Reader – It is the best offline, portable RSS reader and an essential blogging tool for me.
7. If you could choose anyone, living or dead, to write a guest post for your blog, who would it be and why?
My friend, Peter. I am a big fan of his writing style and quirky sense of humor and felt that the world missed out from him not blogging. I have convinced him to write about anyhing under the sun every Friday. Look for the category/tag “Pedro Report” for his past posts.
8. How has blogging made you a better person?
I have learnt a lot in the last 3 months of blogging than I have in a while. Better yet, I have made quite a few good friends as well. Bloggng has opened up a whole new world for me to explore and connect with.
9. What are your tips for becoming a better blogger?
Be yourself. Experiment. Always look for ways to improve and be open to your reader’s comments and don’t get defensive if their comments aren’t supportive of your views.
10. Name one great blog that you read on a regular basis. What makes it unique?
ShanKri-la. Just kidding. I have to read Garry Conn everyday as he is one of the most creative, and engaging bloggers I have seen.
