10 Questions with Christine of Redhead Rants
Ten Questions with Christine of Redhead Rants
1. Describe your blog in five sentences or less
Redhead Rants was designed for me to just cut loose and be myself. I run another blog where things are very professional and business-like and I was beginning to feel a bit restricted. I had to create a special place for myself where I could release some creative energy or I was going to burst.
2. Link us to one post from your blog that best defines who you are
That’s an easy one. Here’s a post I did that told the whole story. Or at least the parts that I felt would keep others from running for the hills.

3. What sets you apart from other bloggers
Ok, that one’s not so easy. I don’t really see myself as being “apart” from other bloggers, but I do try to go out of my way to get
someone else out there to at least giggle when they read my posts. My theory is that if I can make at least one person smile each day, I’ve done my good deed. Life is just too short to go around with a frown on your face. :o)
4. When and how did you first discover blogging
I first began blogging about 2 years ago. I’ve been a freelance writer for many years and have run a website and newsletter for writers since 2003. I’d heard several people in the writing community talking about this new endeavor, but didn’t jump in until nearly a year later. Once I began blogging, I found a whole new way of expressing myself in a creative manner. It helped me to discover things about myself that I didn’t know I could do.
5. What is your biggest pet peeve related to blogging or the Internet
The fact that with the Internet, we have the ability to learn so much about everything under the sun, and yet, most people use it as a tool to either cheat other people or as a means of seduction. I’ve never understood how somebody can sit in a chat room for hours and hours, talking to total strangers about things that shouldn’t be mentioned in mixed company.
6. Name one plugin, widget, or service that you can’t live without
Just my e-mail. I could probably manage without any of the other fancy things, but I’m hopelessly addicted to my e-mail. I get a rush when I see
that I’ve got mail. I really don’t care who it’s from, as long as it’s not spam. To me, when I receive a message from someone else, I feel a little better about myself. Who needs a therapist, I’ve got mail.
7. If you could choose anyone, living or dead, to write a guest post for your blog, who would it be and why?
Now, that’s a tough question. There are so many people to choose from, but I think I’d have to choose the ancient historian, Josephus. I would love to see how he would have portrayed our society. He had such a strange way of looking at things in the ancient world that I’m sure he’d have a field day with the way things are now.
8. How has blogging made you a better person
I’ve had to learn to keep myself grounded with my review blog. I constantly remind myself that it’s a blog for reviewing ways of earning money
online, and not a place to tell jokes or show off pictures of my flower garden. At Redhead Rants, I’ve learned how to “shmooze” a little better. I’ve never had a problem making friends face to face, but I find it difficult
online. I am getting better, though.
9. What are your tips for becoming a better blogger
Enjoy yourself. Find something you feel strongly about, and tell the world. Try to always keep a positive attitude, as your readers will pick up on it in your work. Read as many other blogs as possible, as there is always someone out there who knows more than you do, and there are those who may need your wisdom in their own quest. Learn as much as you can. You’re never too old to learn something new and knowledge is something that they can’t take away from you.
10. Name one great blog that you read on a regular basis. What makes it unique?
That would have to be The Entrepreneurial Blog of Matt Huggins. This is a highly intelligent young man and I’ve really learned a lot from reading his blog. I don’t have to grab my dictionary and thesaurus to understand the things he’s talking about. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know much about all technological aspects of this world, but thanks to Matt, I know more now than I did a few months ago. There are still many things that I don’t understand, but I’ll get there.

Oh yeahhhhh, the final run-in and we’re still going.
I guess this is the last time I’ll be in touch - tons of people to comment so it’s gonna take up the entire final hour and a half alongside my blogging… so it’s been cool being your monitor and I hope to see you around!
Take care, John! Get some much deserved rest :)
I liked the answers
Whoo Hoo, this is cool.
Mike and Tish, I’m very proud of the both of you. What you’ve done for The Glaucoma Foundation is very cool.
Though I wasn’t able to hang out for the entire 24 hours, I am very honored to have been a part of this.
Thank so much :) The support we received from everyone hanging out and commenting throughout the entire night was incredible! I’d do it again for sure :D
Not only is Christine a great writer and blogger, but she’s also an amazing person! She’s so thoughtful, she’s even emailed me to check up on me when I didn’t blog for a few days. How sweet is that? I can’t think of a kinder person! :)
(tucks a $20 in Matt’s back pocket)
Thanks honey. You’re so kind to me.
LOL
Christine is awesome and one of my favorite blogging “sisters”. :)
Awww, thanks honey.
Let’s here it for the blogging sisters out there. LOL
