Ten Questions with Johann the Dog

1. Describe your blog in five sentences or less.
The Days of Johann - an agility dog, blogs about my life, my loves, my hurts, my interests, my cares, my funs,my worries, my friends and family, my website, and oh, yeah - ME!

2. Link us to one post from your blog that best defines who you are
10% of our profits now go to dog rescue!

Giving back is a big part of my life.

3. What sets you apart from other bloggers?
A big part of what sets me apart is the fact that I’m a dog! But many of you may not know there are a lot of blogging dogs. What sets me apart besides my striking good looks (BOL!) and love of agility, is my desire to give back to my community. I’m a pretty lucky pup and many pups out there aren’t as lucky. We want to help them out however we can.

4. When and how did you first discover blogging?
My Mum and I started our blog a couple of months after she rescued me back in 2004. I was about five months old then. We started it as a diary of my life ’cause I’m her first dog EVER! And, of course, she is crazy about me and wanted to write down all the cool stuff that I did. She had never made a website, and wanted to experiment, so she used me as her muse. She started JohannTheDog.com as a fun site about me (including the blog) and my buds, then opened up the shopping part of the site about three months later!

5. What is your biggest pet peeve related to blogging or the Internet?
Hmmmm….I’d have to say that sometimes people don’t understand my point of view, or the fact that I’m a blogging dog. But since I’m a dog – I live in the moment and don’t let things get to me. I try to get my Mum to ‘let things roll’ too!

6. Name one plugin, blogging widget, or service that you can’t live without.
Bloglines. It helps me, easily and efficiently, keep in touch with my buds!

7. If you could choose anyone, living or dead, to write a guest post for your blog, who would it be and why?
Lassie. As a symbol of courage, faithfulness, and determination in front of hardship, Lassie is an icon. I’m sure she would have a lot about life to share with my readers. She was also one of the first celebrity dogs. I’d personally like to know what life lessons she could share,how she juggled all the aspects of her life and handled her celebrity.

8. How has blogging made you a better person?
Huh? Well Dog? It’s made me think about my life in a whole new way. And what direction I’d like my life to take. I work to have a healthy, happy and fulfilling life. I’m not just a dog, but a living, breathing, loving member of the family; and very important in the life of my Mum and my brothers and sister, and my friends. Through blogging, I try to share that as much as possible with others and those less fortunate.

9. What are your tips for becoming a better blogger?
Be honest, be kind. Don’t worry about what others think. Share your life and hopefully people will gain something from what they read.

10. Name one great blog that you read on a regular basis. What makes it unique?
My friend’s blog - TipTail.com. Their blog inspires me,makes me laugh, makes me happy and sad, teaches me and always leaves me wanting more. They are an inspiration and I love sharing my blogging life with them.
