Emila Yusof’s Illustrated Blog - A blog we luv
Being someone who has grown up drawing and has been interested in most forms of art my entire life, it was easy to fall in love with the work of Emila Yusof. Emila is a graphic designer and illustrator living in Malaysia and believe it or not she is self-taught. When you find an artist that displays the kind of skill and creativity which Emila does, it’s quite obvious they were born with a very special gift. Quite simply her work is extraordinary and deserves your attention.
After you spend a little time browsing through Emila’s portfolio you’ll instantly notice she has developed a very distinct style. It wouldn’t be hard to spot her work even if it were hanging in a museum, labeled anonymously. Though all of her forms of work are wonderful I’ll have to admit I find myself particularly attracted to her character illustrations, like the one on the right. You might recognize Marzie from Tish’s previous review. They have a cute, playful and cartoon style which appeals to me, being a cartoonist.
When Emila is not applying pen to paper or brush to canvas, she also creates an assortment of handmade crafts, all of which bear her very unique style. In fact this month Emila is hosting a contest where one lucky person will win a handmade tote bag, featuring the image of an adorable little kitten.
